Supporting St. Mark's Church
St. Mark's Episcopal Church is primarily support by the pledges and other monetary gifts from its members and friends. We know that in these challenging times, we must think clearly and carefully about the ways in which this parish conserves and utilizes our building, financial resources, and staff and active lay leadership, even as we call forth from this congregation, and from our wider circle of friends and supporters, the most generous possible sharing of their time, talent, and treasure.
We do not need to tell you that it costs more today – than in former times - to sustain a full-time priest, some part-time support staff, a fine music program, a somewhat adequately heated church building, the recurring needs of keeping up a building which has suffered from deferred maintenance over many years, the financial support of the diocese mandated from every parish, and still make some provision for the emergencies that may come this way in the year ahead.
It is never too late to make a pledge towards the support of St. Mark’s Episcopal Church and its mission and ministry. Pledges help us to plan and budget more accurately and realistically in these financially challenging times. Pledge cards are available on the table outside the Parish Office. If you have questions about the financial needs of St. Mark’s, please feel free to speak to the Priest in Charge, one of the Wardens, or a member of the Vestry. Whether you pledge or not, if you would like offering envelopes, please let the Parish Office know and they can be provided.
