An adult study group meets between the two Sunday services, at 9:00 a.m. in the parish library. From September through June, this group meets each week. In an alternating pattern, conversations developing from the reading of an assigned book and Bible study of a wide range of biblical material are offered. From time to time, an evening gathering which includes a topical presentation and a time for fellowship is offered, announced well in advance. During July and August, Bible study is offered, with conversation focused on the text from the Gospel for the following Sunday. Study groups are led by members of the Clergy and/or trained laypersons.
Lenten Study
A study program during the Lenten season (typically Sunday afternoons in March) is offered each year. Lent is the traditional season of preparation and self-reflection in preparation for the celebration of Easter, and adult education is especially appropriate during the season. |
